DOES THE INTENSIFICATION OF URBAN AND RURAL AGRICULTURE IN BENIN CONTRIBUTE TO THE EMERGENCE OF ENZYMATIC ACTIVITY IN ANOPHELES GAMBIAESENSULATO?

To explore the contribution of agricultural practices on enzymatic activity in Anopheles gambiae populations, collections gambiaelarve were done cotton vegetable farming (famers use for both,insecticides pest control) and subsistence (no insecticide) from district Banikoara, located Benin. Enzymatic activities such as total protein, monooxygenase P450, Glutathione-S-Transferase esterasewere investigated F1 generation females aged 3-5 days. Results this study showed a significant high level P450 wild populations An. particularly areas compared to susceptible Kisumu strain (control) (P<0.05). However, there is no difference Esterase (α β-Naphthyl) 3 control (P>0.05). These findings confirmed theemergence gambiaes.l Glutathione-S-Transferase, P450. same esterase could be explained by involving many insecticide resistance mechanisms associated locality.
